not much of an update:
- finshed drivers side inner arch and it has got a goat of seam sealer and underseal awaiting stone chip
- passenger inner arch is 80% welded and all semas that are finshed have been sealed and 50% in underseal
- rear drivers arch - 50% finshed, 1 more problem area to sort
- drivers side sill has been took back to bare metal and strenghtned, currently fabricating it back to standard as best i can, it will then recive a layer of stonechip when the arches are being done
- rear o/s inner arch still needs attention but its pretty solid
- new stainless manifold nuts have been ordered from vauxhall and will be posted to me in the next week or so ( il post pics once i get them)
- in the process of buying a 4branch, the fellow has to find them
- in negotiaiton with dod to get a new standard rear bumper as my current one was cut to fit the mk1 side exit exhaust
over and out for now
i have a set of mk2 bumpers if they are any use to you johnny, give me a bell.

wel another small but ok update
yet agai pics speaks for themselves
inner drivers front inner guard welded and a coating of seam sealer for good luck
some etch then followed, i wasnt sure to etch it all but the next stage should resolve this
some weld pics i promised, bad quality but you get the idea, not bad for someone who never touched a welder until recently
some of the black stuff, i applied a genrous coating of this around all seams or areas where water may or could come into contact with,..................leaving this
same with pass side front
driver rear got the seam sealer then underseal
as i was just working my way from one arch to the other i was just doing anything i coould to make sure all areas have been treated
so i started taken off all the stonechip and protection with the wire brush attachemnt and all was gogin well until this,
o yeeeeeeaaaaaaa some holes....who doesnt love a hole now and again?
but wait........it has been sorted, i cut the majority of the infected sill out and fabricated 2 new plates for it and got them welded in, i dont want to see plates or evident welds so im still trying to blend the new metal in with the original sill
and finallllllly....some new purchases for the next stage, i protected the uderside of the car at the beginning but i wanted to buy my own stonchip gun, i new i wanted to give the car a nice even coat of stonechip i the arches so she can live as long as possible so i bought the stonechip gun and a nice big tin/cannister for the job
im getting there...........
Good to see that you are beaverin away lad, I will be walkin round it at a meet sometime in the future I'm sure. Weldin is great for someone thats not used to it, not a mission could I weld as good as that.
Lots of people say underseal is bad but I reckon its good as long as whats underneath it is rust free and well primed etc.
Nice one mate, looking good as per usual with each of your updates, been a good read keep it up
great work mate keep it up
sorry for the complete lack of updates, mainly because there has been very little updates,
blame the combonation of long hours at work, everyday car needing mot & generally not getting time
im predicting with one or 2 days solid work the welding & fabrication will be finished and i can begin stonechipping the arches etc, and leaving it rolling to go to paint in january hopefully
just a update to let you know me and the sr are alive
