will do, hope to get the bay complelty sanded and cleaned and the remains of the front panel etc out and getting ready for welding and fabrication (cut out bad and make new from scratch) sounds fun.......naaattttttttOriginally Posted by vaughanmc

got a bit more work done recently but never got around to putting up the photos
its the slow, boring job of prepping for welindg etc so bare with me and il get there, im learning as i go along ..............
removed the sound deadner from the bulkhead and started to prep the bay to go into primer after welding to the rest of the arches
i then set to removing all the bad bits whihc left areas like this
and i then made cardborad templates for the several areas i am goin to replace which will make it easier to cut and shape the plates - took a while but quite proud of my efforts
cardboard templte example
all of them, , nothing major as you can see
and lastly i removed the interior before welding the area in the boot, the seats will also be shampoo'd and maybe steam cleaned before they are put in again
i get bored easily hence why i have 3 or 4 things going at once rather than stay at one area whihc i feel suits me best
im currently cleaning the underside of the car and re-painting it whihc i will post photos of once finshed - soon'ish
thatttttttttssssssssssssss allllllll folks
thanks

wel after not updating in a while ive been getting on with the slow but worthwhile jobs
as im learning as i go my project isnt going as quick as everyone elses but im getting there,
comments welcome
here was a general phtoo of the underside beofre i started working on it
i then removed the brake lines and hid them away for later cleaning, these gear selctor was also removed
after cleaning the entire underside(c*nt of a job) and applying a combination of fresh stone chip and seam sealer, once i was happy i applied a coat of white hammerite for further protection and to make it looks the business, very happy with the outcome and will give it the extra mint look when finshed
i then took the ream beam and gearbox (once removed) and soaked it in petrol and left for a while to remove any grease, oil etc
i then hit it with the powerwasher on a fine jet and they both came up very well and left a clean surfece to start prepping them both for paint
before cleaning:
after:
i then started prepping and painting some bits, mite aswel do them now and
store them away for later fitting, it s doing the small items right that will help the build quilty later on
