    Default GSI project K7 OVA

    Hi
i've been going to do a project thread for months now,
but never got around to it. so here goes
my name is stu "7ova" and live in doncaster south yorkshire
    i'm a mechanic and a mot tester
    married with two children

when i passed my driving test many years ago my first car was a
red mk1 nova swing, loved it as everyone loves there first car
then had a few more nova's untill i bought a mk2 nova SX in black
only six months old and 3k on the clock it was great
    no rust or rattles.
wish i had left it in a garage for the last 14 years or so, instead of
putting it in to a six foot ditch and then rolling it several times across a
    farmers field
then had a few more nova's and then moved on to vw's and bmw's

but over the past couple of years i wanted to get a gsi as a project
and put it back as new
i bought my project first a k plate mistral grey gsi, got it off piston heads
from a lad in derbyshire who used it everyday and for track days.
does anyone recognise reg K449 LHW ? soon to be K7 OVA

over the last 16 months ive had three other nova's just to run around in
    tidy up and sell on.
k reg flame red gsi, j reg silk violet gsi and a j reg flame red 1.2 nova flair

here's a few photos of the gsi and i will try and update thread as i do more work.

how it was when i got it, with the silk violet behind it

got it in to the garage and started to strip it

this is how it looks now cut all the front panel off and set in to welding

    thanks for looking.

thanks for coments leeboo and dj wudgey.

yes it is quite solid, as you can see from one of the photos the front cross member was starting to corrode slightly on valance and around offside
    headlamp mounting.
so i thought i'd just change it all, rather than patching it up.
allso the front splash guards need some work. job for the weekend :D

    thanks again

got the welding photo's of splash guards up,
i had to make a couple of plates up and cut out any rusty metal, then finished cleaning up engine bay and got some red oxide primer and
grey primer on the bare metal.

    drivers side

    passengers side

and engine bay cleaned, welded and in primer

and the battery tray, didnt need much work just a clean and paint

got a new set of these for the gsi

and a set of these tucked away in my shed,
just had a refurb in vauxhall star silver and avon tyres

does anyone know where i can get any vauxhall badges from?

    thanks for looking
