    Usually, RMS is roughly 50% of peak.

    However, with budget audio, RMS is usually around 20% of peak

    DO you run a sub? if not 6x9s arent nessecary, it would be better to get some 6 inch components. and if you can get as bigger speakers you can up front, as thats where your ears are!

    its in the golf which does run a sub, but the 6x9's are always run high pass,
    and as stated in the original post i cant be bothered to make another shelf to take decent components (although having put them in my cav i can see the improvement)
