The bare fibreglass bootlid comes in at 4kg. Not weighed the standard one yet but I've read it's around the 11-12kg mark bare. Also get to ditch the lock mechanism strut etc. Another benefit is being able to open the boot with the engine running - I couldn't with my early boot due to the lock style.
