Got steel here if I want to do that cheers! Bit of a bugger for access with the oil cooler and radiator in there to start plating it, that and I worry it's going to look like a patchwork quilt if I keep adding plates!

Sounds interesting, any pics of the ducting attached to one? I have the air duct splitter-end pieces from a 7 series I was going to mock up today but forgot! These ones:

What I was getting at is that all this effort to route some airflow towards the brakes is not going to be worth it, you'll never tell the difference and would be better off putting tme and money into something else on the car
    All IMO of course
you wernt in the car going flat out at donnington in the passenger seat when he sat there, 2 inches from the chicane when he said 'oh my god karl i have no brakes' que an oh f**k clench from my balloon knot!

I think Beevers went under/stopped trading a little while ago mate, sorry.

Cheers for the pics Scott, I have some parts collected and a plan to hopefully execute tomorrow weather dependent so I'll post up how far I get

OK here's what I've been up to the past few weeks

Finished my crossmember repair, primed and painted:

While I had the paint out I thought I'd plan ahead and cut away some of the crossmember to match the wings:

Also fitted my new Powerflex ARB bushes:

What's left of the FloFlex ones after barely any work, one's split already:

    On with the brake ducting...

The pic someone posted previously with the Vauxhall ducts, managed to borrow a pair off Harvey for use on his mk2 Astra:

They're very far off fit-and-forget really, as the angle of the tiebar/bottom arm is vastly different to the bottom arm angle of the mk2 Astra:

So I'm proceeding with the ducting idea. Seeing as the proper scoop ducts are £40 a pair, and the Revotec machined alloy intakes are £20 a pair, I bought these plastic intakes for £5 posted the pair, cheapness ftw

Utilised my cut-down crossmember and drilled/mounted them in the bumper like this:

    Duct can come along here:

Will be attached to the lower arm/ARB like this:

And up to the rear of the knuckle like this, to point at the middle of the disc. I will make something up for the end of this pipe to channel air into the disc even more, like Mowgli suggested.

Needed some new dry trackday tyres so purchased 6 19/57/15 Michelin S9C tyres:

Needed to test fit them front and back to make sure I wouldn't have any clearance issues, but they fit well:

Looking forward to trying them out!
