You've ruined the surprise of the Nova's replacement, damn.
Not updated this in a while, but not done a huge amount. Cracking on with it again though, partly out of boredom and partly to get it ready for 2013 trackdays.
Poor little Nova outside in the snow:
I fancied changing to a matching rear lights setup, so I've fitted twin reverse lights. Needing a fog, I figured I'd use one of those motorsport rainlights, a cluster of bright red LEDs. Mounted it on the bumper iron like this:
Not too nasty looking in the bumper IMO:
All wired up:
Lowered it a bit more - only a few threads down on the front as I have no suspension travel left, but the rear has come down a fair bit:
I fancy having some brake ducting to try out on the next trackday to see if I can keep the Mintex 1144 pads that faded at Donington, so have been mocking them up. Choices are...
1) Along tiebar. Problem here is that there's no room for it between the caliper and the strut at full lock, and the wheel will scrub it.
2) Up the strut and through the crossmember.
Problem with 2) is that it's very tight to the wheel on full lock, and it gets stuck between the strut, brake line and chassis leg:
3) Along the bottom of the tiebar, and up to the front splitter. Problem here is that the splitter takes a beating when I reverse up my driveway and it will have very small ground clearance, however there's a nice clean route for the air and no real obstructions:
4) Through the steering arm hole, up and to the front. Problem here is that its very tight on the drivers side where the alt is, and there's no way to route it to the front for cold air on the passenger side unless I centralise the radiator:
What do people think is the best way to route them?
Oh and this nice surprise I found earlier needs fixing, the crossmember has cracked between the tiebar bracket bolt and the unused hole on the drivers side. Thinking of the best way to fix this...
Edit: as 8valve-craig has pointed out elsewhere, my alternator belt has flipped itself inside out again, grr. Not done this for a little while since I reduced the tension, so I think I have alignment issues there

You run your arb on top of the tie bars? Why?
Id run it down on the tie bars and in, more room and looks better and better air flow...
Arches need a clean too.

That I really miss when I reminisce
ARB runs below the tiebars as it's supposed to. Below/inside tiebars definitely looks best for clearance and flow, but it'll just rip it off reversing up the driveway I think!
Whole thing needs a clean, will go on a mad cleaning spree when it warms up a bit.
Sorry wasn't looking at the picture correctly. Surly if its running along the tie bar it will the same hight as wouldn't touch anything...
