    does anyone know what the law says about stretched tyres?

    It's a mot failure if the tyre/wheels sticks out beyond the arch IIRC. So get your MOT then fit the stretchies

    I read on here somewhere, someone didn't recommend them for everyday driving, dangerous handling or something. Wherever the thread was, was advised show use only.

    not only dose it not look safe but look rubbish imo looks like you could not afford the right size tyres


    were dose this look come from as i have never come across it before is it a euro look thing

    and also if your a ****e driver for parking you will always kerb your alloys, where as i have ballons which are over sized for the rim, and stick out, the tyre always hits first

    if the tyres are really stretched then under very hard cornering there is a chance they can come off the bead on the rim. When i got my mini it had 195/35/13's on but when i changed them i could only get 175/50/13's and the tyre manufacturer insisted on warning me that if they do come off "tough ****" although to be fair the tyres seem to sit square with the rim
