thats as cool as ****! i'll be watching this.

what are the top mounts from or are they customs? look like maybe stock rod parts or something. i was toying with the idea of widetracking my rally car but was just gonna cut and refit the turrets at a bigger angle.

also where you gonna race it when youre fitting such wee wheels? ovals?

Hello Kenny the strut tops are custom made ,i have got a mk2 escort that is built to tarmac gp4 spec the chap who built it Retromotorsport uses them on his race cars, i will be racing in the dunlop motorsportnews champonship, it is based in the southeast visiting brands llyden ,castle coombe ,thruxton and silverstone gp circuit we will be changing the cwp for the longer circuits but may have to get higher profile tyres to try to increase the topend

This looks very impressive toymex. Will be keeping my eye on this project. You never know, you may be asked to join the unofficial small block club in the near future, just need to discuss the idea with my fellow small blockers

why not just start with larger wheels in the first place or do you have a stock of tyres from the mk2?

also as a sidenote, when youre holesawing everything you should really trim the front panel right down to its seams, the sides that protrude under the headlights are entirely non structural. only benifit of them (especially with your wings) would be to use as a fixed mounting point for brake ducts or an oil cooler.

Hi Kenny thanks for the replys we are running 13s as we have the wheels and more importantly the tyres also Andy who is advising with the build is familiar with racing a nova on 13s and also setting up cars so it makes sense to try these there is no downside i can see other than gearing and brakes,on the gearing with a 3.7 cwp it will give a top speed of approx 130 which as its still only a 1400 i think it will struggle to pull any greater top end without compromising low speed cornering ie pulling out of corners ,but it is all a bit of trial and error so time will tell and with the brakes at the moment i am still running the 16v astra stuff with grooved discs and decent pads they just fit under the 13s the car will be lighter than the sport and they were great on that car ,now i know i will have a lot more grip but we will see if i need to i can get some decent 4 pots

Never mind joining the smallbollock club, join The Bumshunters Corporation, we have bigbollocks, and you'll need them them with that car.
