    Default smallblock race car

Hi Chaps as there seems to be a few threads about smallblocks i thought i would post some pics of our new car .As some may know i had a nova sport that my brother rolled earlier in the year

well we bought another shell with the intention of swapping the bits over, but along the way i decided i wanted to go racing so things have evolved along the way here are some pics, i must hasten to add this is very much a budget build so we have tried to do as much as possible ourselves with help from a chap called Andy tedder ( A T raace engines )who is one top fella and really knows his onions

the engine and box are being used the engine has had new rings the block decked the inlet side of the head has been re worked,it all ready has big wasted stem valves solid lifters and quite a wild cam ,the straight cut box has had a freshen up and a new plate lsd has been fitted as we found the old one was smashed to pieces we think this may have been the cause of the sport rolling ,the cage has been used as this did not suffer any damage thas about it really as this one is going wide track the hockley or pilbeam lower arms and tie bars that we had are of no use so we have had sone new ones made,it is also going to run 13x10 wheels so we have had to fit the wide arches

Plans are to get a 4.1 cwp fitted as the 4.54 that was fitted is no good due to the 13 inch wheels once that is fitted we can get the engine in try the new lower arms /tie bars for size and see if the wide arches are going to cover the wheels we may have to extend the wide arches if we decide to go full wide track then get and do some testing as the first race is in March

Those topmounts look cool! Should be a good car when you've finished with it.

Edit: I think I recognise that A.T. Race Engines sticker, think I've met Andy, he's a great guy.
