Just wired a twin fusion sub with a 900W amp (Halfords jobbie), the amp is powering up fine but the sub just isnt working.
Im assuming theres no signal.
However, everything seems hunky dorey.
We used an RCA type lead for the Amp-Sub Connection.

you dont use an RCA lead for sub, i think its speaker wire you use. RCA cables go into the back of the head unit not the sub.
Ye did that, but we had one shorter RCA lead left over, and with it being halfords and being plain useless (had to go back for another wiring kit before because they got it totally wrong) I assumed they'de given us that lead to connect the amp to the sub.
Will it not work at all with the RCA wires in it?
There is one other wire with no connectors on end, I'm assuming thats the one we're supposed to use.
yep, the wires with no connections are the ones you want to use. they go from the amp to the sub. if it still doesnt work then try screwing the wires in on the amp in differnt bits, like theres left..right speaker etc.. and those RCA leads, did you plug them into the back of head unit?
Yer, we hade a long RCA lead which went to head unit.
I'm not clued up on amps and subs and the like.
There are a few + and - points on the amp, opposite the power connections. What are they?
We were plugging the RCA to the sub into the "output" RCA on the amp, is this wrong?
yeah you need to use the speaker wires you got with the with the kit. one goes to negative on the amp and one to positive i think. dont use the rca to connect amp and sub
there should also be a remote wire from the head unit to the amp. normaly a small blue wire.
the amp requires a permanent live, remote ignition live and earth. the rca's from the stereo go to the amp inputs.
yeah he said that hes got all the wiring sorted, just the amp to sub isnt going well.
just the same as wiring a speaker the + goes to the + and - to the - on the sub. bridged is where a sub would be wired on the amp below.
