    Default *** Help Please ***

    Nearly crying in frustration here!!

Got a couple of days off work so yesterday stripped me dash down to spray if black using a vynal spray, only had 2 tins so used both it looked pretty good (if I say so myself).

Got up this morning and noticed a few bits I had missed / sprayed too lightly, so went to same shop bought the same spray and remasked up then blasted the poor bits now its dried its turned gray and looks awfull (runined the quite good finish i had yesterday).

Any suggestions the can is black it goes on black and then dries gray is it cos I am spraying over where i already sprayed??

    ANY TIPS AT ALL PLEASE

    Rory

Yeah might well be cos I am spraying where it has already had one coat and dried.

    Its runined my day!!

I think the spray looked pretty good first time will post some pics up.

If anyone else thinks spaying the dash is gash (it rhymes so might be true), last decent GSI dash i saw the guy wanted 130 quid not a chance I am paying that.

Again any suggestions as to ho I can get a coat of black on.

Probably just have to paint it all again, or try and remove the paint and leave it grey!!

There was a thread a couple of months back. Some people had some Very Very good results, others had poor.

If its too cold, the paint won't take well. I had some stuff from Halfords which was rubbish, went really patchy and grey. Going to flock those bits at some point though.

Meh well not gonna let it ruin my day

will take the whole dash out at weekend an have another do.

To take the dash out do I need to take the front windscreen off and also since I put it back together the indicators wont work and the light is constant (instead of flashing) on the dash any ideas on that one?

Check the indicator switch, hazard switch, and relay.

No need to remove the windscreen to take the dash out. Its only about 4 screws and two bolts that hold it in place.

Where are you painting? Probably wont make much difference, but maybe get a heater in your garage and rattle the cans indoors?! Getting cold out now, so might affect the finish?! Just a suggestion.

Oh, and dash out is not a big job!
