Think I've used all of those methods one time or another
This one is in not out but sketchy all the same, car jacked right up on blocks etc engine slid under then car on the deck and a single crappy trolley jack is the pikey winner so far for me mind. The blocks and cheapo jack can be seen littering the ground. I took quite a risk given it was a new engine/box and the car was just back from paint, but you know how it is

I have murdered a car witha Stihl saw though, the string start thing snapped off so we had to finish chopping the pillars off with hammer and chisels and the engine was 'rolled' out . Rolled the bulkhead forward over and over and ragged it out. I then ran that engine without so much as a filter change Young and stupid ftw
