    Default Head unit wiring

Basically ive wired up my cd player from the 2.0 into the salloon, ive wired the red and yellow wires from the stereo loom into a black/red wire on the car loom but when you switch the ignition off you lose any stations you've stored and the cd restarts.

    Where have I gone wrong?

thats a swtched/ignition feed. From what i can remember; you need a black wire - that should be permanent feed - but always check with a multimeter/tester as it could have much bespoke/non o.e wiring put in it over the years...

black is switched 12v+ (to red wire)
red is constant 12v+ (to yellow wire)
and brown is earth, these r main ones so make sure they are connected correctly.

what i normally do is forget about the ignition feed and twist the yellow 'n' red together and run them both thru the constant feed, no hassles that way, and everything always works.
