    Default Oli pressure gauge

just wired the XE in today. havnt had it running yet as the starter is buggered but when you have the ignition on, the oil pressure gauge reads at the max all the time.

the electrician at work did the wiring so im assuming its all right.

Does anyone know why this might be?

    did it do it before?

It should stay at the bottom, but the oil light should be on, then when the oil pushes the ball bearing inside the sender unt, it wil earth out and turn the light off. Takes 5-6psi of pressure before it turns off.

for starters does your xe have the correct oil pressure sensor on the oil pump with 2 connections? if so the plug will be for the oil light and the male type bullet connector is for the pressure guage. cant remember the colours but make sure these are correct.

the sender could even be faulty, your original sr one might possibly fit
