Does sound like coil to me, although I had this same engine fitted to my last nova and it started playing up. Turned out to be the section of wiring that goes from the main wiring to the coil and...

Been there already mate, with the stripped out Nova, Roll cage etc etc. But that was my weekend car and this is my every day car. The comforts of carpet and a stereo make a difference.

You obviously spent a lot of time and effort removing the insulation and glue from the roof.

Wouldn't do any harm. Do whatever you can to make the sound come upwards, rather than down through the car. Brown Bread sound deadening was the stuff I used. Cuts your fingers to shreds though,...

You'll need to make sure the airspace available is sufficient for the sub you intend to use. And as Philly mentioned put down some sound deadening and don't be stingy as you will loose a lot of sound...

Not a huge amount. It is now sporting 2.0 16v brakes aswell. Will be fitting GTE/GSI side skirts soon and a rear anti-roll bar. Other than that and the minor body repairs it's unlikely to change...
