Rear Seats don't weigh anything compared to the fronts, ditch those and go with buckets. Anything inside the dash you can, remove it. Get rid of the Heater motor in the battery tray and the matrix -...
K&N do what they call "Filter Socks" for Weber intake trumpets, theyre basically a foam tea cosy over your trumpet. Look ok but they are foam so will be crap filtering compared with a proper cotton...
Happy New Year! I'm back - why did I get banned on my other account by the way? that 1 actually worked like it was meant 2!
Exactly 1.3s have a smaller bore than a 1.2, therefore using a 1.2 gasket will create a chamber between the block and head, using the 1.3 gasket (if of equal thickness of ourse) eliminates this...
1.3 gasket would work, and may even be better for compression. (unless it's like twice the thickness of the 1.2 gasket). If however they are the same thickness then the 1.3 would be better.
It's not if it's been smimmed. Only the tiniest difference anyway.
Yes they will fit a 1.2 head if you do change.
Invest in a Hyanes manual from ebay, you'll easily get one for less than a fiver :+:
Discs should be 10mm thick (thats 1cm to the uneducated). When youre pushing the piston make sure you unscrew the fluid reservoir cap or the piston simply will not move. Have you fitted shims to the...
On a serious budget:
Carb, inlet manifold and associated plumbing from a 1.3SR late type (After '86, 13ST engine)
Camshaft from the same
5-speed Close Ratio box from either mk2 1.4SR, SRi, GTE...
Dunno about the XE standard stat but Mocal stats are supplied as standard at 80degrees. You can have custom ones though.
When you're revving the tits off an engine which has got the water hot...
Rally Car, North Wales. No motorways, no long smooth driving periods. Oil gets ridiculously hot.
You can get an inline oilstat brand new from Mocal for ?21. I've got a brand new unused one you can have for ?15 if you want it, I'm running my cooler without a stat.
You mean the steering column not the steering rack. the racks are all the same, as are the columns really, but the Mk1 boss is different because it has a different method of cancelling the indicators.
13" RFX Revolution Group A nova wheels fit with no mods. Must be group A and not standard 13" Revolution or it wont clear.
Theres an Astra that colour by me, I always thought it had faded as well!
In good nick for round about ?1k - ?1.5k. Must, be pretty much standard, no kits no bodywork mods and no pathetic attempts at tuning.

Agreed with MD, if youre that worried about your holes being weak then weld a washer in whilst your at it! 8)
Ste, won't shoretning the TCS mean having to shorten the driveshafts accordingly?
Would be pretty simple really. Take a multimeter to the wires that activate the motors, then rig up some cable to a push button (Push to make or a non locking toggle switch or whatever style of...
Probably means it's front left as thats where the weight will be thrown when you turn right.
Alternatively have you checked your wheelbolts? I had a garage leave them loose once (idiots) and...
Forget about the GTE head, the only difference between it and the SRi head is the ssize of the combustion chamber. You'll be better off with the SRi head no matter what you do to the GTE one.
hehe, same happened on a mates car - took us ages to finally work out what he'd done!
MAKE it fit - when my standard front bumper left a nasty gap I removed the steel insert (weight reduction, stuck a jack under the bumper and raised it to the point where it was jacking the whole car...
You've put single filament bulbs in your brakelights, simple as that!
And before anyone goes oh no it's not - I guarantee you that is what it is!
1 of these is at fault:
1) Thermostat in side of head is knackered
2) Hose blocked
3) Rad blocked
would take MUCH more than 5 minutes for the rad switch to activate so that can be discounted....
