8's will never fit with standard arches, iirc burgo tried 8's on a saloon, and they just fit between the outside dimensions of the car and the suspension strut, pretty sure it's 8's that Dan runs on...

Probably worth the work to get them on, so long as you're aware of it :)

Bear in mind that even at 40mm or so, the tyres poke into the arches, as they're square.

Have you checked out the arch clearance? My 6.5's were tight with the arches tapped a bit.
