Try me, im after a few bits, cams, lifters, springs, heads or complete.
Could be different, the 1.3 and 1.4 is notched fitment, but the 1.4 is too wide and it takes a flat pulley belt. Think the 1.2 isnt notched and just bolted ??
anyone got a 1.3 crank pulley wheel, V belt ?
Looking for a short engine or just crank and rods for a 1300 ohc, standard or needing regrind - happy to consider.
Couple of pretty basic questions,
I have a 1400 block that i want to get on my engine stand but the bolt holes for the engine mounts are a different size to the 1300 blocks i have, which surprised...

One of these ?
As it says, no daft prices please, im in Leeds.
Kent Solid lifters as well if you have.
a 1300 rod is 20mm gudgeon, so wont fit.
consider wiseco suzuki dr350se pistons 79mm, 20mm gudgeon/wristpin.
or
Toyota avensis 79mm, 20mm wristpin - need to machine crown as its a terrible...
Im not familiar with that clutch mechanism as i dont use the F series gearboxes, if its hydraulic put a new one in in case its scored at the end of its travel, as the jolt is either distorting it or...
Hi Gary,
Whats the diameter, im boring out to 78.3, i would have thought the 13n head gasket will be too small.
Struggling to get a compression plate so i may just recalc the pocketing of the...
Had similar before myself, its most likely your clutch release bearing getting jammed/ partially engaged because of the impact, they tend to un release themselves after a delay. Mine was a hydraulic...
Hi Paul,
Pretty sure the cam followers are different - see this link

Wanted Kent CF20 solid lifters and mechanical adjusters . Not interested in some worn out rubbish or rusty bits sat in your shed. More interested in someone who's bought them tried them and thought...
Thx for the offer Royston, im sure my red block is standard, my crank is out so i measured from the main bearing carrier, cant remember the figures but will do again.
Hi Balley, id love to have a...
Webers are easy to work on, your float chambers might be sticking from crud that has been sucked in or it could be overfuelling.
Take the filters off and leave the fuel pump running and see if the...
Agree with realnova, check your fuelling, nowt wrong with 99 for that, what fuel pump are you using ? do you have a regulator on it and or a fuel king, I had a red top in an astra and was using a red...
I didnt fancy sitting around so I have done a measurement on the basis that the red block with the engine vin code is a good template for measuring the original deck height of a standard block....
Looks like we are going down similar paths, my preference would be 1300 bored to 1398 or 1413 (+.50) depending on your class restrictions.
If your going 12;1 you really need throttle body mappable...
hi Royston,
I suppose the max height is determined by the compression i want, dont want it to be more than 11 to 11.5 cr max.
I have a spare 1300 rod that i will machine out the gudgeon...
This is the butchering

Anyway the main race block i want to use looks like its been decked ;...
Had a look at the two blocks, the spare red block still has part of a stamp on it see link :

Yah, solid lifters for sure, did you have to enlarge the valve pockets in the 1200 pistons to accommodate your bigger valves ?
Ill check for an engine number, must admit i havent seen one, so...
I know that this is an old thread, but rather than start a new on based on a similar project i thought it best to add to it, so no flaming
I have now sourced some new Mahle 1200ST pistons,...
The stroke on the 1200 is around 63.4 i believe ? so that wont work for what i want either - its looking more and more like the 1400 block route then....
