So the bit of cable that goes into the crank sensor is a bit exposed. Looks like the end of the sensor might have split where the cable goes into it. When I unplugged it the engine died. So I guess...

What about taking your current plate down to a machine shop and get them to drill and tap some larger holes on the other side to the sensors?
