If you can get hold of a hoist, you can take it out from above. That's how I did mine, a one man job ( with a little help from Mr Haynes Manual ) Don't know whether you'll have to undo your bonnet...

Just loosen the bolts that secure the water pump. This is eccentrically mounted, so by turning it one way or the other you will increase/decrease the tension on the belt

Thanks for the replies. One more question though, which side has the square shaped ports. I have square shaped on the exhaust and cathedral on the inlet side. Does this make it a 1.2i head ?

Are there any walking dictionaries out there that could tell me if there's a difference between a 1.2i and a 1.2 carbed version, or are they inter-changeable ? Also, are there any identifying marks ?...

Should be easy if you can find the screws. Haynes will help. Although I said it's the mixture screw, it could be something else, carb clogged up with sh*te etc.. etc.. Someone cleverer than me will...

It depends what carb you have. Basically, you'll have two screws somewhere around the base of the carb. One is your idle, the other is the mixture screw.

Have you checked the mixture screw ?

If you've got a haynes manual, it's p*ss easy. They even tell you how to make the clamps. You may have a problem with extracting the screw from the middle ( can't remember for the life of me what...
