Now I'll have to get the Astra remapped to Stage 2 to make up for the loss of the nova's excitement! :(

I can't justify having a toy at the moment, we have just bought ourselves our first home and it needs a few more bits than first thought, so selling to free up some cash. Plus me and the gf have a...
It's solid, but it needs a small patch painting in underseal (drivers footwell area) and the sills, although solid on the drivers side someone has jacked it up incorrectly and bent it slightly, but...
The mounts are different, you'll have to use the same kit as if you were fitting it to any other nova. Plus you'll want to do more than just "fit" the engine. Get the bay seam welded and strengthened...
Since sticking the Nova up on ebay I've had a couple of "muppets" asking me to meet halfway to Scotland, and asking if I'd take a non running VW Bora in part exchange... Erm, no your okay thanks......
For a 15" the lowest offset you want is an ET45, although ET49 is the best option. If it is a VW wheel then expect it to be a lot lower than you hope it is (sadly) as they are usually ET38-40.

The ones I need must be for a Mk1, and have the 12 contact points (6 per side) as aposed to the mk2 ones (7 per side).
Any pics bud?

Is the car charging correctly? Loosing voltage as it drives? Slower to start? It may be an electrical issue too, although again strange to just suddenly knock out the rev counter.
They are nice cars, well put together and drive nicely, however the BHP is either a bit optimistic or the power delivery isn't great. I worked for Mazda for 2 years, and drove a fair few of these,...
Loose earth, failing distributor or a bad rev counter itself (unlikely).
As toymex said, could be a distributor fault, also check the earth cable running to the back of the clocks going into the rev counter side.
Vauxhall Nova SR owned by a mature enthusiast, not a boy racer! Car comes with a very long MOT and road tax so is ready to drive away. 5 previous owners.
Finished in rare option of Laser Blue...
You need a test to tow? I've never bothered in the past! Whoops lol
I have mine wired onto a separate switch, it adds a small element of theft prevention and also allows you to switch it on/off without the ignition.
Do they have more plug terminals on them? I thought that mk1 and mk2 clocks were inter-changeable. :(
Depending on your budget my Nova XE might be for sale... :)
So true! lol
The TPS was causing the car to kangaroo at full throttle (I did make a thread a while back about this for more info), with it unplugged the fault goes away, so bought a new sensor which is a lot...
Today couldn't have gone any more wrong! :( My new clocks, steering wheel and TPS arrived this week so today as it was sunny, I set about fitting them. The old TPS screws were rounded off, so that...
Anyone? :(
I've tried Momentum and V-Power in my XE, neither are any better than the cheap stuff. You have to remember that in the early 90's there wasn't the choice of fuels that we get today, so manufacturers...
Yep, if it is a mk2 it will need the hazard switch, if it has that, check the relay/fuses etc..
