i had a FVJ engine in my GTE a good while back, they are as said stock but blueprinted, later ones also had an enem cam iirc, great engine, interesting sump setup too as you say, single stage pump?
if you do have any louvres in the floor, makes sure they’re a decent way back, as they tend to wreck the splitters aero and actually increase lift, better off trying to duct in through the front...
i never said it would be easy! personally i think you should drill or cut a hole through the top of the jam at an angle (it won’t affect the strength with all that tube in there) so you wouldn’t...
ok so the drawing is a little avant-garde if we’re being kind, but i think you get the idea

the dark shaded tubes are your existing...
nothing to stop him fitting adjustable pillow ball style mounts? i imagine the fixed ones are the mock up and welding splatter
it may well just be the pics, but to me it looks like there is room, but you would need to bend the tube to a profile that comes outwards off the A pillar cage leg, wrapping tightly round the turret...
i do wish Broad would learn how to talk to people without the imperious streak, anyway...
i think your design will be fine strength wise, especially with that extra bit of tube in place, but if...

Heads up everyone in and around Kent please, friend of a friend has had his corsa race car stolen from his driveway this morning between 1 and 3am in bexley heath
was rolled off the driveway...
what issues did you get from running one out of interest?
no worries :thumb:
the key is packing the sand really really tightly, tamp it down every inch or so as you fill it, and seal the ends well, but yes also a proper fitting die is a must, if the dies you have aren’t a...
fair enough, i know the z1800 is different so presumed the later 16s had gone to a similar oil pump setup
think the z16 oil pump drive is different to the others
well, the casing is big block, but the outers are small block and the inners are massive industrial looking splines not even remotely related to a big block cv
...
well stock bolts are usually done with angles after an initial 18 lb/ft but can also be done in stages up to 75 lb/ft if using a cometic gasket, whereas the head studs will go up to 80 lb/ft, but the...
i actually run a big block f20 casing with Hewland 6 speed dog engagement gears and their F3 plate diff, and so use custom shafts from dave mac props, they use small block outers but large GKN lo-bro...
the late heads require a 5mm spacer to be fitted under the normal washer as the head is slimmer, meaning the nut would bottom out on the thread before full torque is achieved
i'd go with the small block shafts with the big block mk2 cav inner route tbh, outer CVs are usually the weak point, usually if the car has too much castor effected by moving the hub forward with tie...

those tips being made of metal will just wear against the baulk ring, damaging it or the tips themselves, and also depositing the metal filings into the gearbox, not a great idea imo
looks a great base, got to say though you i love the name of your welder manufacturer, lol, as for engine choice, if your going rallying i suppose the regs will be the first point of call...good luck...
cool, be interesting to see if it can be made to work
