no they are identical engine outputs so i dont know why 1 would be better than the other, maybe because the latter 1's are restricted by the cat..
the airfilter goes straight on looks good but...
if ur vacume pipe is leaking air in, that would cause idleing probs, but most probs is a blockage of crud.. these are useless things anyway, if i was u i would plug the vacume pipe rendering it...

ive had them both and am currently running the later dis pack, multec equipt injection system... the bottom ends are diffrent as it has a crank sensor.. they can be identified by the engine code...

its ur headgasket 100% sure, pressurising ur water side of things, explains the sludge..
there is a fuse 4 the pump in thefuse box locate the rear wires 4 it, and put an inline switch in any of the 2 wires, then locate ur switch in a hidden place.. use a toggle switch...
why do u need to take ur in put shaft off?
dropped into second gear this morning and crunch! put the clutch down straight away and drove in all gears except 2nd... whats the likely damage?
is it salvagable? sounds like a bag of nails in...
if u are putting a 1.2i engine in then thats fine but if not then u will have loads of unwated wires (i mean loads)
