Looking at the picture it looks like your hand brake arm is quite a bit away from its stop, you need to back off the cable adjustment then adjust up the shoes at the self adjuster till the drum...

You will require cavalier ones , I presume it using the cav stub axle as well
It's just a plastic housing with an o ring, I have seen them leak there before but not common , try a new o ring first but is a bitch to get at ,good luck

Mk1 cavalier front shocks fit rear of nova and are shorter but can't remember how much
Anythings repairable but it is an awkward place just have to cut out the rust and weld it up again in sections ,good luck

Could be pushrod worn , spring Brocken or cam lob worn ,pump not getting full travel . .

Have fitted 16xel starter to my 14se fits no probs but haven't tried starting yet as it's work in progress
I have 16 internals in my 14 block,had to chamfer the bottom of the bores for the rods to clear,easy done,also run a lightened 14 flywheel and f10 box, goes good
You can use mk1 cavalier front shocks (if you still get them) same fitment as nova rear shocks but are approx 25mm shorter so less droop and keeps spring in
