Bloody useless!
So as most of you know I have the Nova Estate, it's already insured through A-plan for £400ish (all mods declared and an agreed value with like-for-like replacement). I have just bought a Carlton 2.0 saloon for £150 as a backup runabout car and I called A-plan up to see about insuring it as a 2nd car.
Bare in mind I have 12 years NCB on the Nova, but according to A-plan due to the type of policy the Nova is under the 12 years can be mirrored (as in used again on the Carlton). This made me happy as it means it will be dirt cheap :thumb:
Yeah I was wrong! Their best quote was £438!! Bare in mind 1.5 years back I insured my touring car based Carlton estate 2.0 16v Turbo 350bhp loon machine for that price! They swore blind it was the best they could do, so I go-compared lol
After a quick search on go-compare with the same information as that provided to A-plan (but without any NCB) I was able to secure a quote of £241 through performance direct
So:
A-plan WITH 12 years NCB: £438
Pef. dir. WITHOUT any NCB : £241
Seriously WTF

I would phone A plan and say you've got a plan b, put the above quote to them and see what they can do

So there A holes then?? lol
-
Performance Direct dont do AV do they?

I was never under any illusion that insurance companies apply logic when quoting policies.
Quite frankly I'm getting fed up with the £200 price hike at every renewal only to barter them down again after hunting about, Just gimme your best feckin price in the first place!

Admiral tried it on this year, I called them up with a legitiamtely cheaper and better policy from Direct line... they undercut the price to make up for the lesser policy. pains in the ass.

It's just an insult to the average persons intelligence imo. (note I didnt grant the average driver any intelligence as they usually tailgate & hog middle lanes thus not having average intelligence)
