Import insurance? 30 years old

So I'm getting quoted £800 through go compare for a Toyota MR2 turbo import, price is exactly the same whether its tpf&t or fully comp. Makes so much sense that.

Have 9 years ncb, passed in 2005. No claims or points.

Is it worth shopping around or shall i just keep the triumph Daytona 675 that breaks every speed limit in the country with a sneeze? about 180quid fully comp for the year with 4 years ncb on that..

I'm 30 now and insurance doesn't seem to have dropped.. I drive like a granny according to the guys at work, does that help?

Iv now had 2 vehicles were it was cheaper to insure without using ncb.

Insurance companys take the piss because they can .
I have just upped my vans annual mileage from 10,000 to 15,000 . They put my insurance up by £40 per month nearly doubled it I was shocked to say the least

it was adrian flux i think that came back cheapest, i removed the non performance related mods and it went down to 440 with a different company. I'll try a few over the phone, although last time iirc my phone bill wasnt very nice trying to find quotes on a converted nova.

Does make me laugh, my sister can get cheaper quotes and she still doesn't know how to use her mirrors.

Put your sister or another female on the policy that might bring it down.

I put my 68 year old mother on my policies.

Don't use Flux, they are a) rubbish if you do need to claim and b) not cheap lol

Admiral might be worth a shot, they cover my (lightly modified albeit UK spec) GT4 and for some reason always come out cheapest for me. £200 fully comp with business use, and I'm 35 with 17yrs NCB and a non-fault claim. Having my wife on made it more expensive so I took her off lol

Other than that, give Graham Sykes a call. You get guaranteed discount if you're a paid club member. They would have covered me at £318 on the GT4, although I probably could have gotten that down a bit.

[edit] Also may be worth trying Brentacre, they cover my Super Bee for almost literally pennies but weren't overly competitive on the GT4

Flux were good for price on my sr. £90 insurance and £15 for agreed price of £4k. But I never had a claim. I used to insure my dailey mk5 golf through admiral chipped bigger wheels etc for £400. Now moved and own a mk7

Try Lancaster insurance I got a good price on my let nova

Have you considered checking with Graham Sykes or Brentacre, given their potential discounts for paid club members, to see if they offer more competitive rates for insurance on your Toyota MR2 turbo import?
