The 8v head was undamaged. It's had a lot of money spent on it. Plus I never got round to proving what the engine was capable of, fingers crossed this one will last long enough for me to do that, lol.Quote:

Then with a bit of effort we managed to get the loom out:

This left the engine bay nice and empty, ready for it to be cleaned up and stitch welded:

We then noticed that the headlining wasn't lined with all that furry crap, so that came out:

I need to think about how I can replace the sunroof. It looks like I'm going to have to either weld in a piece of metal or fit a piece of polycarb or carbon. Will look into it in more detail when i next work on the car.
So now everything is off the car. The next job is to remove the sideskirts (which should be fun).
Good work Jim, I did like the car as it was, but this is the next step I guess, always did need a cage ;)
I liked it as it was too Ash, but it was always too "pretty" for the track. At least this way i'll have no excuse not to track it.
Hmm, removing those skirts will be a nightmare!
There bonded/blended into the arches iirc??
Excellent stuff Jim :)
Seems all the "old" guys are going for track use these days... very wise too!
Good work Jimbo!
jim sell me your rear lights........ please:thumb:
cripes, ur cracking on alright for sure...
'i get knocked down.. but i get up again'
so the 'head saved the project then, fair to say..?
Good stuff Jim, but why remove the sideskirts?
They look great and if there is no reason to take them off then why bother adding that to the workload.
Anyway onwards and upwards :thumb:
