Wow am loving the brake set up. Discs look huge.
New brakes look very nice :) colin how do you get away with running rear coilovers but not having turrets? as i know you not allowed to remove metal in such areas
In an effort to fund my engine rebuild (just got the first part of the bill!), I need to sell a lot of stuff.
There's a batch of bits on EBAY now, search for HILLCLIMBESCORT as my User Name to find them.
Items include;
ISR 4-pot calipers
ISR floating discs and alloy bells
STACK dash display system
STACK 52mm boost pressure, fuel pressure and wide-band lambda gauges
Carbon fibre dashboard
and lots more stuff to follow soon..........
That lot is gonna go thru the roof^ Looking at the way it it wants me to bid...lol
It needs to go through a very high roof to cover the costs of this engine rebuild.
My 2012 crash is proving to be an extremely expensive mistake!
Funny, crashes at full speed arnt normally cheap....
And put it this way, the bit i thought i'd try a price on wanted more than 65 pounds....
Not a huge amount to report on, but I have just got the front disc bells, the rear hubs and the steering rack mounts back from the anodisers.
I had a slight re-think, and I'm now going to use the smaller diameter brakes and the 4-pot calipers, rather than the big 280mm discs and 6-pots.
The freshly coloured bells are now re-attached to the brake rotors, and look quite nice;

My latest plan is to utilise mountain bike brakes on the rear end. I will get some stainless steel brake discs laser cut to suit, and use these Hope Mono calipers.

I reckon if I use a big master cylinder, plus a pressure limiting valve, the back brakes will be doing so little work that they shouldn't overheat and self-destruct.
That's the theory anyway. The back brakes have to be functional if a scrutineer wanted to check, so as long as it can stop a back wheel turning when the car's jacked up, that's good enough.
Will the hope ones have enough power? I know they lock a bike wheel up but a car one is a lot heaver.
