Non-horizontal engine
I am wondering if everything is correct, when engine in Nova is not horizontally. I remember how it was in my X16SZR engine. Now I have found other picture (Fow16v project) in which - C16XE also doesn't stay straight (gearbox side is lower). Is it normal ?

I wouldn't worry about that mate, c20xe/let's dont sit straight either and to be honest i dont even think the standard engines do!

what drivers front engine mount do you have, looks like a 1.0 one to me ???
probaly chatting **** though !
-
If you supported the engines weight on a trolly jack, slackened all the mounts & then raised the engine level, tightening all the bolts would prolly hold it in place.....
-
Mine is the same. Even the 1.2 was the same.
And browney, thats not his engine.

I have heard - differential mechanism in gearbox get worn quickly. In 2008 Ihave replaced one gearbox because of damaged diff, that's why I am worried
-
the only way the diff bearing would become damaged is if the engine is pushed right over to one side and the shaft is pushing hard against the inner cv but i dont think this would ever be a problem with any big block never mind a small block engine, the diff bearings are held in place via the side holders! if they are over tightened or the box has not got enough oil then you might see a problem.

I think that majority of vauxhall engines sit on a 7 degree tilt on the exhaust side (pointless info!)
But i have done a few xe into corsa's and non of them have really sat straight, but as above, take the weight of the engine via jack or something and tighten everything up
-
i have a 1300 and F10 on competition mounts and im sure the gearbox side is lower on that too
-
even if you do it a heavy engine on a jack and tighten them up it'll find its way back down in the end!
