Benn's On Going Rebuild
Well thought its about time i go a thread going on here too...
The full thread is on Mig, so please pop over and have a look from the start..
http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...s-rebirth.html
Where do i start?
Well with the new bits i guess...New wheels...
So a few weeks ago i picked up my new wheels. Got the old tyres taken off as there where huge, then took them to this man.. (Craig and Mark at Hi-pol metal polishers 01329289966)
I wanted to do a test rim to see what finish i wanted on them..
Sanded.

polishing starts (this was a quick 10 job to see the finish was like)

Now cause the rims come painted the casting isnt 100% on them getting a good polished finish can be hard and takes time.
There not fully 100% but i think there damn good. they do need a good clean.

Now after leaving the wheel with him and letting him work his magic, i picked it up.. (again still needing a clean off)

Now to do a trial fit...
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...3.jpg~original
Tryed to get it tucked up like it will be when fitted..

Will be lower as you can guess.
Now as the tear drop bits on the wheel are so small there a night mare to get in to, as is the lip on the out edge there gonna need to be painted,

They're getting finished at the mo...

I popped to london to meet Dec,
The man is a legend. He show me and dan around his gym/nova store... All the mint bits for his mk1 look great and it will make one hell of a nova!
Went up there to pick up a nice pair of mint doors, and they are, bit grabbie and who ever painted them hasnt done a good job, but none of that matters ass i'll bare metal them, delock and then fully paint them up.
