Lsd advice
What lsd would you recommend for road driving and an occasional track day? F20 box with xe in my corsa b.
Also what would be better suited to my let nova f20 again but much more track focused than the corsa is so somthing a little more aggressive maybe

Quaife ATB is a nice all rounder, fit and forget no maintenance. If track focused I'd consider a plated diff e.g. Tran-x, but it needs occasional maintenance and ramp angles/preloads setting up right.

plates dont tend to need much looking after for the kind of use "we" give them.
If it were a rally car or race car being abused hard, then yeah an annual or 2 yearly checkup, but for road/track, I reckon you'll get a good 5 years from it before even thinking about needing work

Gripper or TranX, and you will have grip. On the street with plates should not use semis, and dont drive agressive, otherwise ATB.

Can only speak from open diff / ATB experience, but would say once you put up with the steering feedback from the ATB, it definitely makes the car safer with big block power.
Seems like a contradiction but I find it makes straights under power more stable & corners under power less stable! ~ This is purely because of ride heights etc as the diff means it can corner at a higher speed (rather than just washing out) pulling the car inwards into neutral / oversteer rather than typical FWD understeer.
Depending on bushing / damping / spring Vs road surface equates to how it feeds back through the steering and it WILL be harsher than an open diff.
I'd like to try a welded diff just to see on balance how hard it is to turn in / harshness.

I'm gonna get an atb for the corsa and see how I go. I fancy a plated one for the nova. Maybe another arb in my fiesta too if I like it in the corsa

My mate had a pretty lairy tran-x plated diff and it was a pig to drive on the roads - would always want to 'crab' at low speeds and used to munch tyres!

Really? Surely it's an open diff until it heats up / enough torque to lock the plates?
Can I ask was it equal length driveshafts?
