Now i know it aint a Nova but it was ?50 haha.

As i rolled my Starlet i was looking for a new car/project and i reckon ive hit the nail on the head this time.

I bought an 'M' plate Corsa SRi in black with the 1400 8 valve MPi engine (C14SE) . It was needing 'a bit of work' but nothing i cant handle, plus itl be a good way to learn.

Upon first look it needed headgasket, N/S Door glass, bonnet, 2x tailights and a starter. (and a reet good polish) Panels arent the prettiest but itl clean up!

Its solid - sills, front crossmember, chassis legs, boot floor, scuttle area and strut tops are all solid as they day they were made.

Of course MOT and tax too.

How it looked when i took delivery of it. (note ghey sunstrip)

Over a few weeks i decided to start stripping it down whilst inpecting for rot - to which i was pleasantly suprised to find none!

I eventually got round to taking the head off to fit headgasket. But when i took it to get skimmed we had a right good look over it and noticed it had cracked in no less than 5 places - to the bin with that!

The bottom end was also looking VERY rough. I figured if the engines been hot enough to crack the head that much then surely the botom end wouldnt be worth bothering with, so out came that too, along with gearbox and shafts.

Whilst removing the front gearbox mount one bolt sheared and one of them had already been cross-threaded by the original owner/butcher.

So a gearbox is also on the shopping list.

I also removed complete exhaust as CAT was completely hollow and needed replacing.

The fuel tank had also seen better days so out came that too.

Ive got a short-throw gearlinkage, 24mm anti-roll bar and other odds and sods to fit too.

Whilst the engine was out i decided to try and smarten the outside up a bit so i purchased a set of Mille Miglia EVO 5's, new tailgate, arch trims, SRi rubstrips/badges, headlamps and a new bonnet. I also fitted some G-Max shocks and springs (40mm kit) doesnt look like it in pics but mind theres no engine in there!! (yes i know it says 1.2 16v)

As it sits at the moment it needs an engine, gearbox, CAT and fuel tank.

With a bit of TLC i think it will all come rosy again haha.

Watch this space..

I wanna lower it more as it makes the wheels look HUGE on just a 40mm drop - sits like a tractor!

Ive got some grey arch trims to go on so il put them on and back-to-black the lot and see how that looks.

Still need to G3 the lot though....

Im soon acquiring a tin-worm infested GSi nova and im gonna put engine and box from Nova into Corsa (E16SE)

Also breaking Nova - keep eyes peeled for post soon!

Also been busy tonight farting about with headlamps!!

Had a bash at tinting them DIY style!

Used a heat gun and split the lenses of the lamps from the black plastic part.

Removed the chrome surround and painted it black.

Refitted it and it loos quite good IMO
