How hard will it be to put a 1.4sr engine into my 1.2 is it easy for a novice like me. Is it just a straight swap and what would be the best gearbox and brakes to use. How much should an engine cost me.

use the 'box that goes with the engine and you need coil etc and an sr exhaust

its just a straight swap,my advice is to get a haynes manual from halfords,it tells u what to do exactly.do u have an engine crane?its a lot easier.if not u can put the car up onto ramps unbolt it,and with bout 4 peeps lower it to ground.do the same to put new en in.get a anti roll bar(front and rear) itl make it handle much better with the extra power.
