Keep it standard else you'll have problems at 17...

What postcode area are you? Occupation? Any claims or points yet? How many miles per year? Where will it be parked overnight? Level of cover? Need a bit more info - it could range from ?800-?2k+ depending on a variety of factors.

Make sure you add an older person with plenty of no claims as a second driver on your policy, even if they wont drive it. Preferably a woman, because they have cheap insurance anyways! Brought the price of mine down about ?150 - ?200 putting my mum on, with admiral. I pay ?1350, but thats because its in monthly payments so adds about ?100.

^ That usually only works with Admiral/Elephant. And not always the cheapest - Churchill still beat them by a wide margin for my renewal this year :D

I'd go with about ?1000 TPFT, double for fully comp.

Go with directline and be a named driver, you build your no claims aswell! I got quoted ?740 with no mods on my mums!

Go to confused.com and you'll get instant prices from so many comapnies and does not cost a penny to get the quotes.

You have to be aged 25+ to go with Direct Line dont you.

Do DirectLine and NU allow you to take the NCB to other companies?

I found confused.com to be pretty poo tbh, most sites that supposedly search other insurers tend to be in my experience.

Nope i dont think so, Directline were ok about 17 year olds even though i am only 16 and just said i was 17 for a quote lol they were fine with it.

try the new RAC website, i found them to be quite cheap, and let you pay it off in two 6month installments at no extra cost.

problem is most companies have a 19+ policy on modified cars. however im only 18 with 1 year no claims. elephant want ?650 for a 1.0 nova or ?700 ish for a bodykit, lowered, spoiler, wheels tpft. worth a try :thumb:

I went with the NFU (farmers son) and Im 20 with zero no claims. It was 450 quid for a modified 1.5TD, They said I could do anything to the car, as far as body mods go, and not charge any more unless it came to Suspension & Engine.
