hey im 18 and have a 1.2 with alloys, a k&n and an aftermarket exhaust. last year i got absolutely raped on my insurance (first alternative, never again!!) and had to pay 1300 big ones. that time of the year has come round again and i have found a killer of a quote from norwich union. bearing in mind i got done for speeding by a pig with a speed gun (doh, 3 points), and only have 1 years no claim, they still managed to quote me 530 quid tpf&t or 600 fully comp!! mite b worth checkin out for all the fellow young nova owners amongst u!! worked 4 me!!

Assuming you're the main driver and those mods are declared thats not too bad a price.

I'm insured with Norwich Union on my 1.4SR all mods declared (Alloys Lowered, Exhaust, Stereo) for ?400. They gave me ?100 back when i changed from Pug 205 XLD (1.7 non turbo Diesel shite) to my Nova.
This year is indeed looking good on the insurance front!

Who says Insurance companys are robbing Ba****ds!

I've been getting a few quotes with Norwich Union just lately, and i have to agree, they have been cheaper than everywhere else.

I didn't know they covered mods tho too.

They cover up to 3 mods, Had to argue the point that shocks and springs for lowering was 1 mod not 2! but otherwise they were fine. Stereo isnt classed as a mod by them although they are aware that it it is non standard.... go figure!

Sure your with NU? lol
They didn't put you through to any other insurer?
Whenever i have rung up, they said they will insure a limited number of mods.

Unless you flashed your cheque book and they let you insure extra mods. lol

Ye, i rung up one time and they said no to mods.

But i rung again about half an hour later and a different advisor bloke said yes, and let me declare my alloys etc etc. It helps with my wheels being GM too.

I've just got a few more quotes with NU, and their prices are amazing:D
i paid ?1050 this year, aged 18, no ncb.
Just got a quote for ?468 from NU, aged 19, 1yrs NCB.:thumb:
LV quoted ?798.

Only prob is that NU wont insure engine swaps, and i dont want to stick around with this 1.2 for much longer, lol. :(

I'm guessing that translates to you got a quote from LV for a 1.4SR for ?1300 fully comp, or ?250 TPF&T with your dad as the named driver? (gotta love fronting)
