1999 = Year of Trance
2000 = Year of Hard House
2001 = Year of Progressive?

lookin at the latest dance choons it seems that way
eg Rui Da Silva, Joshua Ryan, Mekka, Cass & Slide etc etc

"TUNE!" was invented in 1999

I'd say one of the biggest choons this year is gonna be Push - Strange World

Progressive Trance is mint.. intelligent music!!! Unlike hard house, thats just pill popping music :D 1999 styleee trance is still top stuff, but yeah I like the more modern, more 'tame' sounds but with quality build ups to euphoric moments (lol) like mekka - diamond back, delerium - innocente (tiesto mix), Jan Johnson - Flesh, Vincent de Moor - Fly Away, perpetuous dreamer - the sound of goodbye and stuff like that

Things like Chocolate Puma - I wanna be you and that kinda funky sound are gonna be big methinks too.. love it :D

1999 was the best year ever. no doubt about it....
Back to Hard House though, I think it will go on for quite some time.
Having listened to Fergie's final set on Battle of the DJs... its not all pill popping i must admit.

But if you listen to Mauro Picotto's productions they are much better than the hard house choonz you hear today... lot more trance and tech house.

check out "Baguette"

Progressive is the new sound....

its deep, throbing, but keeps the euphoric level...

Nu progressive Era is a must buy

During the mid 90's progressive was big then, you kids would not remember Digweed, sasha, bt, brothers in rhythm, early perfecto stuff, oakenfold remix of deacon blues your town etc etc

Us young folk. I remember Oakenfolds remix of a new order track on the first cream album. Absolutely ace! It had other classics Like Le Voie,Le Soleil by Subliminal Cuts .

ever heard of patrik prins?
he is the bloke behind subliminal cuts, la luna, and artemisia - total class mid 90's house tunes.

i've heard all this new crap at a slightly slower bpm, thats all it is, faster versions of old tracks.

Neil (ians mate from work, ex dj who reads this board)

Bet you were thinking hmm ian knows a bit too much lol

lol true :) Unfortunately I don't know much bout house music from 92-96 as I was only a kid so woz into da nuff banging saaaaaands of happy hardcore and jungle :D Load of cheese really but it's still cool now and then :)

I have a decent digweed album somewhere, one of the global underground series... but it's a bit too tame for me. Quite chilling though.
