I currently have 2 10" Infinity Kappa 200w subs in a bandpass box and was wondering if it would sound better with the 10's in seperate boxes or for me just to get a 12" sub ?
Cheers.

WELL MATE 2X10'S WOULD BE BETTER(MORE CONE SPACE) But a dual coil 12" would sound just as good so if u have the 10's already might as well keep them

hey m8, why on earth u want rid ov those subs??? av got 2 ov them in ma car and the sound exellent(sp), u not like the sound or not loud enough or what???? they subs are designed to be in a sealed box, what amp u got running them?? and what DB's u got??

not true bout the dual voice coil on the 12", the second voice ciol is only there so as u can put less strain on the voice coils eg 300 watts into i coil....not good(if the sub cant handle that) 150 watts into each voice coil.

If you want a nice sounding system with a good bit of bass run 10's if your after a heavy bassy system run 12's or do what I did and I bought three 10 inch MTX Audio subs there loud (134.8 DB) and they sound excellent. If not many of you have heard of MTX give them a listen I used to have 3 10 inch rockford punch sub and these MTX's are alot better !!! :)

The main reason I was asking is because the box is literally the size of the boot with room for probably a petrol can either side. I have only got them running of a little sony amp at the moment and they sound alright but I thought if I was going to have to buy 2 new boxes and it would sound better with me flogging them and going for a 12 I would take that option but I think I will keep them. Any ideas on what amp to use ( I am skint :( )
Cheers
Nathan.
