marshals at the pod on pv weekend are hardly going to be sas trained are they????

they probably went round a few supermarkets & asked the trolley wallys if they were busy on sunday & could they bring their own hi-viz with them...

Not a bad turn out on the PV PNG stand, weather looks alright too..

Just got back although no pics.

Very chilled out atmosphere compared to the usual PV I thought? Not too many dicks about and it felt safe to leave the bonnet open and go for a walk.

Nice one to the PNG admins for sorting out the stand, pretty nice location this time!

Was a really good day, a lot better then I was expecting. The camping side of things was a bit pants but I don't mind for one night.
I have dreaded pod burn despite wearing factor 50 suncream lol. Just sorting through my pictures now, not many of the cars unfortunately, I got a bit distracted by the off roaders and bmx'ers.

wasnt a bad show not the best in my opinion but defenatly not the worst.
my pod burn is bad my nose has blistered already!
nice to see you all again just a shame we had such a poor turn out compaired to other years but had an ace location.

good day out, managed to get a lil burnt! Good to see the usual suspects; seeing the cars' ongoing developments.. Andy frosts victor has to be in its ultimate incarnation now; it runs within a second of the jet car.. road legal apparently.
Agree with Iain quite a well behaved affair.

I didn't make it this year as like last year, my missus booked up a holiday that clashes with PVS! Anyhow, my brother went and told me he thinks he saw my old 2door saloon on the back of a trailer. It was painted light blue and was still wearing its A931FGY number plates. If anyone has any pics or info on this, could you share it with me please?
The last time I saw it was about a year ago when the guy I sold it to had butchered it, lost direction with the project and then flogged what was left of the shell. Oh, and it was brazil brown back then also!
I know how eagle eyed most of you are, so let me know if you have any info.

Hi dan, I do now own that, was on trailer coz didn't get chance to mot it. Your right it was brown and very butchered and a pain to sort But it's getting there, it's now running a c16xe which I call the png bike as it seems to have been about abit haha

re the victor... there is no way that car is vaguely legal to run the original identity... it is awesome, but not right... it is about 5% victor at most

Nice work to get it back on the road as it was fairly bare when I last saw it. I bought the glass, roof lining and some interior stuffs from it to repair my B reg saloon after the fire. I could fill you in on some of its past history and some old photos if you want to be bored some time?! lol
Must say though, its a shame to have lost another brazil brown and gained a baby blue! But thats just my opinion on an otherwise amazing nova rescue.

I'd love to know abit more about it to be honest I have nothing other than the log book, I will put up a thread at some point and you can see wot state it was in, but it was cheap. Have to say a massive thanks to Burgo for sorting me with glass engine etc and my brother (honie5) for sanding and bolting bits on. Still have no interior at all tho so gotta find a lot of stuff!

Haha so you've actually mentioned me :p has been a long old slog and plenty of filler removing but hopefully he's done it justice and can make it into a pretty cool car! Best bit about the weekend was we actually got to drive our novas together for first time in about 4 years! Had a really good weekend was hoping to see a few more novas but usual quality was there which was good to see! I'll be a passenger hopefully in the blue one as we broke my car and it's going to sit in the garage until I can be bothered to sort it lol
And a massive thanks to my brother and jeff16v for a helping hand and tools getting the car patched so I could get it home

Good effort with the nova today David, looked to be going exceptionally well, shame Gareth didn't have such a good one.

I only took 2 pics today, one of the vs stand when we arrived and one of Ricks old turbo nova shell which was missing the boot floor!

First time there for me. Must say really enjoyed it loads of nice novas there. Very good selection on the png stand hopefully I'l have my car there next year. Only thing I was dissapointed with was the lack of spares there!

Found this year to be a massive improvement to last year. It definitely benefits from being a one day show, plus the reduction of side events meant that it was back to being more of a car show and less of an attempted extravaganza of cramming in as much unrelated stuff as possible. I preferred all the stands being on the tarmac instead of large areas being roped off just for a pair of caterhams to do skids all day long.

Plus the camping will always involve utter bellends revving their engines for no apparent reason other than to give their mouth breather mates a stiffy, but you can deal with it for one night. If i'd have had to listen to the guy who decided to spend a good half an hour revving up his gay sounding corsa for two nights in a row, i may have been driven to go and poo on his bonnet!

SO all in all, thanks to the weather and the fact it was a lot smaller and only on one day, as well as the what appeared to be a slight reduction in the retard percentage, it was actually a good show this year.

Also big thanks to Hobbit for stand duties again. :)

I can trump that. PVS 2004.. We got lost with about 30 cars following us... Then there was the "great turn around of 04" in a tiny road.. Almost 40 cars doing hand brake turns and then hooning off the other way...

I'm not sure what all this fuss is about. You keep mentioning the GROUP in capital letters. It happens to be a NOVA group. If we just had any old random car on the stand it wouldn't be much of a NOVA GROUP any more would it?

As it happens we had loads of room on the stand because i always try to get more space thn we actually need so there is space for peoples tow vehicles and/or non Novas, so there would have been plenty of room for your cav in return for your positive input and positive comments if A) you were a member and B) had PMmed myself or Hobbit, as we don't always see every post that's been made. :)

It really didn't warrant so much drama sweetie.

It was a lovely weekend except for thinking Matt's Nova was being stolen at 2am - which apparently was the security men re-errecting the blown over heras fence right next to our tent grr!! I do regret packing for a monsoon though - wellies didn't help me against the sun. My face and shoulders were red raw by the time we left. On the plus side got to catch up with some old faces and meet some new ones :d

I also appear to have gone OTT with pics - just uploaded almost 1,000 :eek:. I shall try get some up by end of week...

PS - A special thanks to Lee and Lyns for babysitting me for most of the day on Sunday whilst hubby was out on the strip!

Got a funny noise coming from the drivers side rear wheel, metal grating as it spins, a bit rough running, I think thats because I put a carrier bag over the afm while I had the filter off to stop the rain then started it up without removing the bag, it got sucked in quite a lot, I think the afm's damaged. Whoops.

can't...
top fuel dragsters are rather long & have a habit of flipping occasionally... then there is the fire hazard with people etc.... my perfect solution would be for them to put a tunnel under the strip about 150-200yds up the track, but, of course, with the lie of the land too, it would need an immense undeground tank/pump affair to sort out rain drainage, and the width needed would make it a 6 figure sum to do properly...

My brothers car, me laid under it.I broke Gearbox mount and ripped bolts out box 20 yards off start line, was "fixing" to get it home! Surprisingly it made it! He's winding coil overs up coz manifold was on floor

Superb bodge IMO, is it getting fixed, I presume, drill out gearbox and retap thread, how bad was the floor plan? Welded??

Turbojolt.. He hasn't got Facebook so won't have seen it but thanks for link I'll get him to have alook. Anyway was some really nice cars there hoping to see even more at billing!

back off my hols now! all was welded up properly etc dont think the wheel spinning off the line helped and must of just gone under the strain. got a new rear gearbox spacer etc for it now and weve got some mounts laying about so going to take it up to misses old man to re tap gearbox sometime this week and get it all sorted and come up with some solutions to make it stronger when we do it. thanks again for all your help jeff appreciated it.
and thanks for the photo of the bodging lol i was being productive fisting the wheel arch honest wasnt just trying to look like i was doing something lol
