Right i am a right lazy fooker but seriously need to give my car a decent wash and possibly polish, but the be assed factor is very low.

Can anyone recommened a decent polish which does not require me sweating like a peado on a rape charge for 4 hours to get it done.

If there was some dodgy east european who would polish it for £20 i would go down that route but there isnt round here.

ps its black!

Also if anyone can break down best way to get the best finish would be appreciated, eg wash, polish, wax or other way round etc.

how much are you willing to spend on polish and wax?

cost is not really the restriction its more the effort, if a polish is £20 and much easier to use than £2 stuff then thats what i will get.

ive got some decent polish mate that protects the paint for 5-6 years its £300 to have on a landrover where i worked as a valeter for a short wile! was it and bob it on and you get a good finish!! its called pure guard dealerships will sell it or some similar polish get back to me if you want any!!

Lmfao, diamondbrite, superguard, gard-x are all bollox, they only last till you give it another decent wash this is all!

You want to be looking at stuff from the Megs range or Auto glym, ive used megs tech wax i think it was, on a black nova in direct sunlight (panel by panel obviously) and it came off fine and looked awesome!

The trick is to getting a good finish is to clean it properly/thoroughly, it will need to be washed and clay barred if its not been done for a while then washed again and waxed/polished, thats about as far as i would go if youre not planning on becoming a 'detailer' lol

Whats clay bar lmao

edit just read up on these, so fook me i need to wash the ****er then stick blu tack all over it then polish it then wax it, ffs wheres a valeter when you need one!

LOL @ superguard, that stuff is indded tosh & shame on anyone that gets conned into paying £300 or whatever dealers blag for it.

I was given a load & the trim spray sent all my black plastics white!

I'm a fan of claying, then polishing & as for wax, despite all the new & jazzy types, a tub of olde fashined Turtle wax is hard to beat. You know, round tin youlever open with a big screwdriver. Smells lush!

The main thing is not to forget tyres & windows. A clean car with dirty tyres & windows still looks filthy IMO.

Dont want to detail it as im not a ponce, just want to clean it!

Also dont want to cut corners just last time i polished a car i had to work like **** to get a decent finish which is probably why i not bothered since.

You do realise TFR is the single most paintwork abusive product you can apply, its very rarely diluted to the correct mix and will bleach and tarnis pretty much any colour going and imo, should never be applied to anyones cars ever!

I think you will find Kev was joking hence the 'lol' after it:p
