Is there a cheap alternative out there that gets the job done in a comparable way to Back to Black?

It's too expensive for what it is really but I've tried a few alternatives and they just seem to dry off almost straight away meaning you have to load it up and end up going through the can at the same £ as just using Back to Black sparingly.

i use cooking oil some times, wipe it on leave for a couple of minuites(sp) and buff off with a clean lint free cloth, gives a good shine but lasts approx 2 weeks

I Use this. Best product that ive found IMO

Just make sure you wear gloves when applying it otherwise you will find you've gone back to black aswell!

Also auto-glym bumper gel is the next best thing to what we use in the trade:thumb:

Heat gun them, then use Auto-glym bumper care. Keeps them looking prefect.

AG bumper care is great, but I would recommend heat gunning as it releases the oils in the plastics which is what have dried away from the surface anyway. An oil based treatment over the top will keep it protected for longer.

Got to agreee with the auto glym approach... Worked a treat on the black valances on my golf. The auto glym Vinyl & Rubber Care worked just as well... Wouldn't be suprised if it was very very similar!

some trim restorers and tyre shines are watar based, which can cause tyre sling, go for the gels, theyre thicker and stick better
