View Full Version : Help!!! Bike carb wiring!!

:confused: Right fitted my bike carbs and then came to the wiring where im ****!

First off the kit comes with a coil, amplifier and a dizzy all connected from a small loom. The lad who i bought it off said all i need is and ignition live to the coil and a earth from the amplifier!

So now i have found an ignition live and put a wire through to the coil + joining it into the wire where the lad told me to . . - to the pink wire that goes from the coil to the amplifier.

Number 1 is the ignition live i have made connected onto the pink wire like said above.

Number 2 is the brown wire coming off the - side of the coil?

Number 3 is a brown wire that comes from the amplifier and looks to need to be connected upto the coil? (the las who i bought it off said that i dont need it???)

Now is this right or wrong? do i need the ignition live to the + side of the coil and do i need to connect the brown wire up to the negative side of the coil??

Next is the ampifier -

The pink wire (number 1) is to the + side of the coil connected to my igntion live.
The black wire (number 2) i was told is the amplifiier earth and is now earthed out?? (correct??)

Then i have 3 wire plug coming off the dizzy

So can anyone help me or tell me where im going wrong?? cheers :thumb: :confused:

got your message, I' have a wiring diagram at home somewhere but i'm in Coventry at the GF's... However I do have the nova with me :)

I'll have a look now quickly and try and get back to you this evening going out for a meal now.

Right...

Sorry for the delay! Spent the day at silverstone.

Red goes to the ignition live, and therefore also to the +ve of the coil.

Black goes to the -ve side of the coil along with your tacho feed.

Brown next to the black ont eh amplifier plug is your earth! (mine was greenw ith a white trac, must have had some spare wire lol)
