i want to run the heated windows of a simple rocker,

if i trace the wire from the window into the switch, can i just cut the wire out the orginal switch and fit that to a rocker switch, or does it run through a relay ?

i dont think you can with mk2, as iv had to take the switch apart, and solder extra wires into it lol

my mate done it before with his mk2, put it on top of the steering cowling. He cant remember how he done it now, and its broken, wires all come away :(

i tired a few times,

i put a switched live to the back of the switch on the 49Q wire it worked 4-5 times, then stoped, never worked again that way, no idea why :(

THIS IS MK1

what happens is, the red line is allways connected whether the switch is in or out, when you activate the hazards the blue line come out and make a contact inside the switch its self, this is where you need to solder extra wires on (inside the switch itself), chop a little out the switch for the wires to run down, as you need to rebuild the switch as nothing will work, then just fit the two wires to a simple rocker switch

edit: if you fit an led rocker switch, and earth the light to chassis, the light flashes off the relay aswell :)
