Can the illumination bulb be changed in the above? I've broken the one I had trying...

there sealed units arent they ? how did u get it open, or did u smash it open lol - got any pics of the innerds ?

yep, they'er quite easy to take apart - if you look at the back of the unit there's 4 tangs you can prise them open with. I think I have a couple pics from when I took mine apart, but they're on my home PC.

The front and the rear come apart quiet easily and you can see the bulb but it's definitely not the push in type as per all the other mk2 illumination bulbs. I also wasn't too ar$ed about breaking it as it is not spring loaded for some reason ie too operate the hazards you have to pull it out rather than pushing it. Upon further investigation I've found its soldered from the rear

your better removing the spring in stead of jamming it shut with a cd lol

these bulbs are a direct swap, but require awkward soldering to the resistor on the back, which is hard unless your really good with an iron.

Its possible to use LEDs but they dont work too well as the colour doesnt show thru the hazard triangle well.
